SINCE ITS ESTABLISHMENT

Reggiana Riduttori has shown a special attention to the environment and sustainability, thanks to the sensitivity of its founder Franco Albarelli

INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS

Thanks to the business agreement signed with a major northern European industrial group, discussions on organizational directions related to the topic of environmental sustainability were opened.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

RR is among the first Italian manufacturing companies to include green indoor and outdoor areas to give a tangible sign of environmental sensitivity to its employees and customers.

USED BATTERY COLLECTION

RR signed an agreement with WWF (World Wildlife Fund) on the collection of used batteries in the Reggio Emilia area.

PLASTIC FREE DRINKING WATER

Drinking water fountains were installed in production departments to reduce glass bottles and cans.

SUPPORT FOR WILDLIFE OASES

RR supported local LIPU (Italian League for the Protection of Birds) wildlife oases for the protection of birds of prey, rare birds and the creation of educational sites.

SAFEGUARDING SMALL WILDLIFE

RR supported a campaign in the territory for the rescue and preservation of small wild animals.

WASTE

Pre-sorted waste collection was encouraged at production sites and offices with the placement of special bins.

PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM

Installation on the roof of the main production site in San Polo d’Enza (RE) of a 240kW photovoltaic system dedicated to self-generation of electricity.

“PAPERLESS” PROJECT

RR started a project aiming to digitize documents and reduce paper consumption as a result.

ENERGY LIGHT EFFICIENCY

At production sites and offices, traditional lighting systems were being replaced with LED lighting, bringing them up to the latest European standards. An operation that had been completed in 5 years.

CARE FOR THE LOCAL TERRITORY

Agreement with the municipal administration of San Polo d’Enza for a contribution to the Reclamation of the former racetrack area in the town. A long-deteriorated and abandoned place returned to citizens thanks to the support of RR.

PLASTIC REDUCTION

Water bottles distributed in the company were made of 50% recycled plastic. The cups dispensed for hot drinks were made of 100% recyclable material.

ENERGY DATA ANALYSIS

A project for continuous analysis of the corporate electrical consumption aimed at the efficiency of facilities and their utilization.

WASTE

Installation of hydraulic compactors with the aim of reducing the volume of pre-sorted waste and the number of trips for delivery.

AIR CONDITIONING

Installation at production sites of an adiabatic cooling system, which is preferred to traditional air conditioning systems because of its limited electricity consumption.

AIR EXTRACTION

Installation of inlet partition valves to adjust the extraction of conditioned air and reduce energy consumption.

ENERGY AIR EFFICIENCY

New-generation compressors provided with a system for recovering the heat generated, which is in turn used for heating some of the company’s premises.

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

For the portion of electricity not self-generated by solar power, RR has been using 100% certified energy from renewable sources.

NEW SCRAP TREATMENT SYSTEM

RR was developing a project to upgrade the scrap processing system with the goal of recovering and reusing oil from machining scrap to the maximum extent possible.

REDUCTION OF PLASTIC CONSUMPTION

Free drinking water dispensers have been activated in the company, and each employee has been provided with a water bottle and coffee cup, so as to drastically cut down the use of plastic.

CORPORATE CAR FLEET RENEWAL

The corporate car fleet now consists of hybrid-powered cars.

ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY

Completion of the photovoltaic system at both plants, which ensures that approximately 30% of our energy needs are covered.

PIPELINES SYSTEM FOR OILS

A new system for transporting and managing production oils has been adopted. Pipeline systems limit oil loss, ensuring a more responsible and sustainable use of resources. This has reduced road transport of this waste by approximately 90%.

WASTE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

The adopted software allows for accurate monitoring of waste flows for efficient and responsible management, including tracking.

NEW PROCEDURE FOR BY-PRODUCTS

Production waste is converted into useful by-products, increasing the value of the waste material. This has completely eliminated metal scrap code 12.01.99 (“metal waste not otherwise specified”).

EcoVadis CERTIFICATION AWARDED WITH A BRONZE MEDAL

ISO 14001:2015 CERTIFICATION

Reggiana Riduttori has obtained the ISO 14001:2015 certification, strengthening our commitment to responsible environmental management and continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
